If you use eBay regularly, you probably know that you can use your My eBay page to manage every aspect of your buying and selling life, from current bids and listings to watchlists and favorites. But did you also know that you can enter personal notes about each of the items that appear on your My eBay page and have eBay remember and display them automatically for you?
There are a number of good reasons why you might want to make and keep notes about items that you're currently buying or selling, or about saved favorites like favorite sellers:
* Transaction notes. For example, you can add a note for each item that you've recently sold listing the shipping method and tracking number, so that you can easily access it as needed. Of course you can do the same thing for items you've recently bought for which sellers have supplied such numbers to you.
* Shopping aides. If you shop often or in large quantities on eBay, this can be a great place to keep notes about your buys. "Bought for Jacob!" or "Remember to buy the matching earrings after work!" or "Need to send a check ASAP to..." or "This seller is great for Volvo parts!" are examples of these types of notes.
* General record-keeping. Sometimes it can simply be helpful to remember how a transaction went, especially if things have gone wrong, if disputes are involved, or if there has been some back-and-forth communication with your trading partner or discussion of returns. In such a case, you might find yourself adding notes like "Item arrived damaged; contact seller on July 24th; received response on July 25th with RMA #1234567; return to this address..."
Any such notes that you add to the lists of items on your My eBay page will automatically be displayed below the item in question every time you visit My eBay, making My eBay notes an incredibly convenient way to track basic information of any kind that you'll want to refer to quickly later on.
Adding Notes to your My eBay Items
In fact, adding these or any other types of notes to the lists on your My eBay page is easy to do. Follow these steps to add a note:
1. Select the item to which you'd like to add a note. This is done by checking the little box to the left of any item, listing, or saved favorites item on your My eBay page.
2. Click on the "Add Note" button at the bottom of the list. Near the bottom of the list to which the item in question belongs, click on the button labeled "Add Note" to load a new page on which you can enter a note about the item.
3. Enter your note. Type whatever information you'd like to add into the text box on the form that eBay offers after you click the "Add Note" button.
4. Click on the "Save" button to save your note. Once you've entered your note (you'll have up to 250 characters to do so), click on the "Save" button to save your note and return to your My eBay page.
That's all there is to it! Note that if you'd like to add notes to multiple items, you can do so simply by selecting multiple items on your My eBay page; when you then click the "Add Note" button, the note entry form will show one entry box for each item you selected. Note also that you can edit any note you've added, either by selecting it once again and clicking the "Add Note" button, or by clicking on the "Edit" link at the far right of any note you've added.

The Real Problems at Ebay
The real problems at Ebay isn't the old feedback system, auction style sales,or people selling used items. The real Problem with Ebay is the Management lead by John Donahoe. When a company starts laying off employees,hiring consulting firms,and spending money on pet projects it means management doesn't have a clue of what they are doing. Ebay quit trying to be Amazon get back to what made you unique. The everyday person being able to sell all across the world without competing with the large corporations.

Why it’s good: Big traffic numbers and a Verified Registered User policy that has prevented fraud from Day 1 (are you listening eBay?). Fees are value for money and the site fosters a tight community. We also liked the fact that payment options are more varied. Goodbye Paypal tyranny! Google Checkout and O-Auctions Checkout are two of the additional options available here. Interestingly, jewelry sells especially well on Overstock. The bad news? This gem is only available to US residents, although a UK version is set to be released sometime soon.
#2 eBid
eBid has consistently kept its place as one of the top alternatives to eBay since its launch in 1999. Available in 14 countries, traffic does vary between sites, but in general, traffic is high and continuing to go up. The biggest attraction for eBid sellers is the no listing fees policy. This makes a huge difference to your profit margins so you simply don’t need to sell as much as on eBay to get the same return. Other cool features include the ability to open up to 5 eBid stores at once(great for sellers in several different niches), and the ability to list using barcodes and prefilled information for books, DVDs, CDs and video games, which makes for super-quick bulk listing.
#3 BlueJay
BlueJay is extremely popular with sellers and buyers for very good reason. It’s 100% free and submits all listings to Google shopping, from which the majority of buyers come. It’s well designed and very user-friendly, coming complete with free online stores for all sellers.
#4 eCrater
We had difficulty deciding who was better out of BlueJay and eCrater. BlueJay won because of its superior design, however we strongly encourage you to try both. Like BlueJay, eCrater is also free and submits to Google Shopping. Although the design leaves a bit to be desired, many sellers swear they get more sales from eCrater than any other auction site because of its great placement in Google searches.
#5 Online Auction
Online Auction has one low monthly fee with no listing or final value fees. However, as part of the latest site upgrade, sellers can page $10 to get their auctions “featured” on Google shopping. In general, liquidation items and low-end stuff seems to sell better here than high-end designer items.
#6 CQOut
CQOut is very big in the UK and saw it’s listings grow by 100% in 2007. CQOut’s fees are significantly lower than eBay and if you don’t make a sale, you don’t need to pay anything. Paperless Payments coming in October
Starting October 18 2008 you will no longer be allowed to accept Checks or Money Orders on Ebay. You will be able to pay with an electronic check but no paper checks. Ebay motors will not be included in this change yet.

Try Addictomatic Program
Surfing the net a couple days ago I came across a program that should help market your online sales. Regardless if it's Ebay Amazon or your own E commerce Store. The program is called addictomatic. What this program does is let's you create your own news page on subjects that are of interest to you. Here's the trick to it, make the page about items you are selling. The page will pull up news from the different news outlets,but will also pull tweets off twitter. Go to the twitter section and click on some of the tweets,then add the person that posted the update to your following list. Then update about your items for sale on Twitter,this will put your items in front of more people that have the same interest as you. Takes a little work ,but it's like building a mailing list.Don't be afraid to private message some of these potential customers. Good Luck

Ebay growth has slowed

eBay, Inc.'s (NasdaqGS: EBAY - News) second quarter EPS were $0.02 above our estimate. Those results were overshadowed by weak growth in the company's gross merchandise volume, which increased just 8.3% year-over-year, and disappointing guidance for the second half of 2008. Macro headwinds, competitive pressures, and a slowing in its core business continue to weigh on the company's stock price.
The company's powerful business model, which requires no inventory and little capital investment, continues to produce solid growth, hefty profit margins, and substantial free cash flow. These positive attributes helped the company deliver solid results in the second quarter of 2008. The company's continued growth has enabled eBay to invest in or acquire businesses outside its core U.S. auction business.
By expanding into these new areas, such as payment services (PayPal), foreign markets, communications (Skype), or ticket reselling (Stubhub.com), eBay is working to ensure that it will be able to maintain its growth rates in the years ahead. Moreover, eBay has a rock solid balance sheet. We maintain our Hold rating on the shares.
Shares of eBay are currently trading at 15.0x our 2008 pro forma EPS estimate and 13.3x our 2009 pro forma EPS estimate. We think this valuation is reasonable in light of eBay's decent but declining growth and $3.05/share in cash. Our six-month target price of $27 is about 14x our 2009 EPS estimate.

Class Room Format Ebay Classes
I have classes in a class room format and I also do private one on one classes family members can also sit in on the private classes.
Private Classes are usually held in the homes or offices of my students so they are working with their own computer system/digital camera that is familiar to them. The public class format is usually held at a local hotel.
Upon completing the private class you will have a sellers account opened and at least one item listed.
Upon completion of the class room format you will be able to go home and set-up your Ebay sellers account and start listing.
The Basics of Selling on eBay
Private Class length 3 hours - This can be completed in one day or broken up to 2 one and half hour sessions depending on the distance of travel. Entire class fee must be paid in full at the first session to hold your date for split classes.
Class Room format class length is 4 to 5 hours.
This class is for the beginner as well as those who have been buying on eBay and now want to sell or learn how to be a better seller. It is a full 3 to 5 hours (depending on the class format)worth of information and hands on learning. The first hour will be Power Point presentation by me using the

Private Ebay Classes
Do you have a friend or two that would like to learn how to buy and sell on eBay. Well get them together for a small private class and all of you can save money. How much you will save depends on how many people.
2 people Save $15.00 each. 3-hour minimum at the discounted rate of $45.00 per hour each. One eBay account set up during class. Second eBay account set up after class. Class may run over three hours due to setting up second account, no addition charge for up to 30 minutes over.
3 people Save $30.00 each 3 hour minimum at $40.00 per hour each. One eBay account set up during class. Second and third eBay account set up after class. Class may run over three hours due to setting up additional accounts, no addition charge for up to one hour over.
